About Bronze and Fibreglass Sculptures

Gillie and Marc love creating beautiful sculptures, pieces of art that take up space in your home to make it more vibrant, interesting, and personal. With every piece created with love, the artists allow you to take home a little bit of the passion they have inside them, whether that be for one of the beautiful animals in the world they strive to save, or their iconic lovers, Rabbitwoman and Dogman. Gillie and Marc work in a range of materials for their sculptures including bronze, resin, fibreglass, stainless steel and ceramic.

Bronze Sculptures
Their favourite material to work in, Gillie and Marc have become extremely experienced at working in bronze. Their public sculptures, all expertly sculpted in bronze, can be seen around the globe, beloved by locals and tourist alike. But the artists don’t only create monumental bronze sculptures. They also scale them down so you can take one of their beautiful bronze masterpieces home with you.

The artists love working in bronze for many reasons. Bronze is a very hardy material and will last forever. The material has been used for millennia, with some over 2500 years old that are still in existence. Bronze is also a non-polluting and very sustainable material to use. It is an alloy made primarily from two chemical elements found naturally in the environment - copper and tin. These two natural elements are mined from ore and are found in many day to day items such as wiring and plumbing. Copper is also 100% recyclable with around 40% of the world’s supply coming from recycled products. Silicon bronze contains no lead or any other elements that are harmful to either humans or the environment. Finally, bronze is very easy to clean, allowing you to admire your precious sculpture with minimal upkeep.

Experts in colouring bronze, Gillie and Marc enjoy experimenting with their sculptures, adding a splash of colour to brighten the work, making it even more unique. This technique is very difficult so is not commonly practised, making these Gillie and Marc sculptures even more precious.

Fibreglass/Resin Sculptures
For the most part, fibreglass sculptures are the same as resin sculptures.

Made from the threads of glass, fibreglass is created by forcing molten glass through a sieve that spins it into threads.

Fibreglass is light weight and easy to transport. It is also very strong. It is reinforced and is the same material used to make boats.

Creating beautiful sculptures in fibreglass and resin, Gillie and Marc like to have a bit of fun. Sometimes in one bold colour, splashed with many, and sometimes even transparent, Gillie and Marc have made sculptures that are not only beautiful but will make you smile.

Authenticity Certificate
For every purchase of a fibreglass or bronze sculpture you will receive a certificate of authenticity, titled, signed, dated and editioned by the artists.
